Nicole Diener’s collection of abstract objects deals with themes of disruption and vulnerability, and speaks of the delicate balance between the man-made and the natural.
Consisting of 15 individual cuboids of various sizes and forms, the artworks can be displayed hung, and rearranged in innumerable ways. They can be viewed individually, as pairs, as small groups, or in their totality.
Their clear colours and intricately worked surfaces point to the natural components of the game.
The objects’ standardized forms and dimensions are reminiscent of childhood building blocks. They invite us to constantly arrange and rearrange, to build our very own fleeting landscapes.
